A Website Relaunch
Ski Famille offers catered ski chalets complete with their À La Carte Childcare service in the French resorts of Les Gets, Reberty 2000, Les Bruyeres and Plagne 1800. Their properties vary in size, accommodating up to thirty people on either a sole or shared occupancy basis.
Ski Famille approached us in 2016 with the mission to relaunch their website for the coming year. With a focus on conversion, we discussed our recommendations during our workshops, allowing us to plan out our goals and ensure the website would appeal to its targeted users.
Their existing website was not fit for purpose and appeared outdated to users looking to enquire online. No body likes an outdated website, and such issues are easily spotted by an untrained eye.
The questions for us was, how could we showcase Ski Famille effectively to its audience?
Our main goal was to engage with Skin Famille’s users. User experience is vital with any website, and so this was our key aim. With childcare and family focused holidays being Ski Famille’s forte, we knew we had to take advantage of their stunning visuals and showcase the beauty of this part of the world.
We wanted visitors to be wowed by their outstanding accommodation, and with beautiful high-resolution images and videos available, incorporating them into our design was a dream. To allow call to actions to stand out from the rest of the content, our designer encouraged introducing a brand new colour. The teal colour was chosen after a series of discussions to allow call to actions and important content to stand out from its surrounding content.
We started by mapping out a new image-focused design. The website was designed with a mobile-first approach, allowing all the content to collapse easily when taken into development. Large, high-quality images were used throughout the site for maximum impact and to act as a scenic background to the information. Each chalet has its own set of gallery images that were sized and edited by our designer, as well as drone footage of each chalet, embedded into the site to bring the chalets to life.
Having built them a brand new quoting system; we created a user journey that connected to a third party API to gather the information on flights, resort availability and prices. Developing the ‘quote’ system was the hardest part of the build; assuring all the information was pulled from the correct places, securely, and displayed in a way that was understandable.
